Our Volunteers
In addition to having a values-based leveling up system, there are volunteers, or teacher mentors, on the playing field to role model what the values look like and offer support for players in real time. With the help of these adult mentors and peer leaders, participants work to “rank up” by demonstrating values to their peers (such as respect and self-control) and completing challenges and tasks that allow them to demonstrate these values.
Within our team, we also have volunteers who work to ensure that all the paperwork is correctly filed and the right child is picked up by the right parent. We also have a one-man research and development “team” who has supported Laurels and Leaders in both refining and codifying safety standards for all our equipment.
Most of our adult team is made up of parents who support not only their children, but the youth of their community as well. The other large portion of our volunteers are young adults who have been playing L&L since they were children and, after turning 18, decided that they wanted to support the next generation.
